The reality of expectations

is sometimes very different

  1. I think this picture could be interpreted differnetly depeding on the person. For me the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the picture was the employment level in UAE.

Tanmia says: "unemployment rate among UAE nationals peaked at 13 percent at the end of 2008. The same rate for expatriates was just 2.6 percent".

There is unemployment in every society, however the nature of unemployemnt differs. In the UAE when a local says he's unemployed it is mainly due to the selective process where someone will not accept a job becasuse of self-esteem and thinks that he deserves a better position, job or offer. I don't have any problem with this, every single human being has the right of seeking a better living standard. However, when I don't have any other source of income and I keep rejecting a job offer after another just becasue I feel that I deserve better and then blame the others for not fullfiling my self-esteem, then this is a problem in the person himself. If you think that you deserve better, earn the respect and the trust by showing others what you are capable of.

Of course this is not the situation for everyone, a portion of the 13% are people that didn't actually find a job whatsoever, but the majority in my opinion are not.
